Puppy Beaten To Death With Ax/Sedona, AZ/3-31-00
Bob Bradshaw, Jr., 58, of Sedona, AZ has been charged with animal  cruelty for bludgeoning his 8-month old German shepherd mix puppy to  death with an ax.
A neighbor witnessed the act, and said when he asked Bradshaw what
he was doing, Bradshaw appeared angry, and responded, "I'm through
with that (expletive) dog!" According to a local newspaper article, "Police
reports state that the dog was found in Bradshaw's front yard lying in a
large pool of blood.  Blood was splattered 10 feet away."
Bradshaw allegedly told police it was a "mercy killing" because the dog
had parvo, but a veterinarian who examined the dog's body said there was
no sign of disease.
Neighbors say the dog was neglected and kept chained up constantly,  and they had seen Bradshaw kick and hit the dog on numerous other occasions.
